Sales launch: new Noblex NV OS 1x23 Mini Red Dot Sight for GLOCK MOS pistols - detailed presentation with video | all4shooters

Oct 17, 2024

With the NV OS 1x23 model, the German optics manufacturer Noblex offers a modern mini red dot sight for GLOCK pistols with MOS interface, which does not require an adapter plate and can therefore be mounted extremely flat. This means that the new Noblex red dot lies so low in the slide that the original sights can still be used if the illuminated dot fails. We present the new Noblex reflex sight, which will go on sale at the end of May 2024, in more detail in the following article and video.

So-called optics-ready pistols have been all the rage for a few years now, both in law enforcement and in sport shooting. GLOCK has responded to this with the Modular Optic System, or MOS for short, and like many other manufacturers has developed an interface for mounting Mini Red Dot Sights (MRDSs for short) by means of corresponding cut-outs in the slide of MOS pistols. As a rule, the MRDSs from popular manufacturers can be mounted on this interface using an adapter plate. The German manufacturer Noblex, based in Eisfeld, Thuringia, is now taking a different approach and, with its NV OS 1x23 model, is offering a compact red dot sight for GLOCK MOS pistols that can be mounted without an adapter plate. Thanks to its compact design and the fact that there is no adapter plate, the Noblex Sight sits very low on the gun, which allows the red dot and the standard mechanical GLOCK sight to co-witness. This is a real advantage.

It is not necessary to mount high suppressor sights and the very compact NV OS 1x23 is also ideally suited for concealed carry. However, the extremely low red dot is not compatible with the sub-compact GLOCK G43X and G48 pistols. The CR1220 battery for the power supply is located in the underside of the housing, so when the battery needs to be replaced, the reflex sight has to be removed and re-zeroed, or at least the aiming point position has to be checked. According to the manufacturer, the battery life should be 10,000 hours – that is significantly more than a year's operating time. Weighing just 25 grams, the Noblex NV OS 1x23 is 49 mm long, 27 mm wide and 22 mm high. It has an aluminum housing with an optical glass lens, a 4 MOA dot and automatic brightness control, which can also be manually set in "override mode" if required. The lens has a diagonal of 23 mm, providing a sufficiently large field of view for very fast target acquisition.

The new Noblex mini red dot sight is of course compatible with night vision technology and waterproof to IPX7. The parallax has been adjusted to 25 meters. The package includes, among other things, a standby protective cap made of ABS plastic, which additionally protects the housing made of sturdy aircraft aluminium during use, as well as a rubber cap for transport and storage. The rugged design promises maximum reliability, even under extreme operating conditions, and has been tested with up to 1,000 g (inertia force per mass, gravitational acceleration) or 10,000 continuous shots in in-house test series.

The new Noblex NV OS 1x23 GLOCK MOS-compatible red dot sight is currently being supplied to specialist retailers at a recommended retail price of 399 euros (German RRP). We are already putting the new Mini Red Dot Sight from Noblex through its paces, and we will report back soon.
