Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Best Sniper Rifles & DMRs

Oct 20, 2023

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has a variety of weapons to pick from, like Sniper Rifles, and these are the best out of them all.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the most recently released game in the Tom Clancy franchise and takes on the tactical shooter genre with an extensive construction of stealth and gunplay. Set on an island entirely overtaken by a privately owned army outfitted with some of the most advanced weaponry, Breakpoint sets up a perfect covert, guerilla tactics experience that enthralls players and creates an immersive environment.

Inside Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, there is a large variety of weapons to choose from, and for players that like to keep their prey at a distance, there are a number of high-performing sniper and marksman rifles available. Having the best possible tool to get the job done is paramount in coming out the other side of a firefight in one piece; here are some of the best sniper and marksman rifles in the game.

While the primary value of a well-equipped sniper rifle or DMR is that it provides a steady line of action to a target from a favorable distance, it also helps that it allows the marksman to remain undetected to a certain extent.

The Zastava is a powerful weapon that can put holes in the thickest of armor, drones, and vehicles with no problem; unfortunately, the Zastava does not provide the level of versatility as other weapons on this list due to its highly limited customization options. However, if stealth is not an option, the Zastava will over-perform thanks to its ten-round magazine size and one hundred and sixty damage per shot.

The MK14 provides in ways that other designated marksman rifles can not; having the versatility of a sniper rifle and an assault rifle makes this weapon a great tool to have, thanks to its wide variety of customization options. The MK14 has some heft to it but won't slow an operator down one second when needing to quickly aim down range.

At base, the MK14 has a fifteen-round standard magazine and a 725rpm; with just over a three-second reload time, the MK14 is a great weapon straight out of the box that gets better with a few upgrades.

The HTI is a great weapon of choice for power and ranges more than capable of earning its weight in gold in battle. Players who are more than comfortable more than a few hundred meters away from a target will enjoy sending round down scope with this hole puncher.

The HTI has made multiple appearances in many Ghost Recon games, and in Breakpoint, it shouldn't be overlooked, even compared to more versatile weaponry. To start, the HTI has a five-round magazine and a 90rpm which takes nearly five seconds to reload. However, with a heft one hundred and sixty damage per shot, enemies will drop like flies.

The G28 is a splendid choice for players who like to be versatile and mobile while wreaking havoc on an enemy squad. The G28 is an above-standard weapon that can more than take care of targets mid to long-range with the proper setup in a firefight or in stealth; for solo players, the G28 is the perfect partner for sweeping through an enemy compound without being detected.

In addition, the G28 has a fifteen-round magazine and a 600rpm, giving it a strong follow-up shot potential and a reload speed of just over three seconds.

The L115A3 is not a lesser weapon by any means, however, it does just come up a little short when compared to weapons further down the list in its category. The L115A3 is a British-made weapon that has the rate of fire prioritized over range.

Players who require a bit more freedom when firing down range to change position or adjust to enemy advancement quickly will want this rifle in their loadout. The L115A3 has a five-round magazine and a 160rpm rate of fire; unfortunately, the reload for the weapon is nearly five seconds.

Arguably one of the best guns in the game, the Tac-50 excels in range, damage, and overall stopping power from anything from normal enemies to mechanical targets. The Tac-50 is a favorite among many Ghost Recon fans, especially those coming from the Ghost Recon Wildlands playthrough.

The Tac-50 serves well as a thousand-yard powerhouse that can turn anything in front of it into a memory. The Tac-50 starts off with a five-round magazine and a 110rpm; it doesn't take many modifications to let this breast out of the cage.

An argument can also be made that the M82 is the perfect weapon for long-ranged combat and is constantly compared to the Tac-50, the latter weapon on this list. The M82 scores just as high on the list in terms of damage and range, so what sets it apart from other weapons is player preference.

The M82 is more than capable of supporting a player in a number of situations and can definitely make an impact with a five-round magazine and 130rpm. Players will most commonly gravitate to this weapon for the feel of a shot leaving the weapon and their personal style of shooting.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available on PlaStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox series X/S and PC via steam.
